FISHING REPORT UPDATE - MON JUNE 3
Well here we are in the 1st week of June already!
But if we didnt know any better, we might think its late June based on the way the fishing has been lately. So briefly what we mean is that things seem to be about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. The waters are quite warm and things are setting up into summer patterns already.
On Lake Ontario the action has been very good of late and its been happening all over. Big thanks to some of our regular customers & charter boats for helping us stay on top of the good details. Fifty Point all the way to Port Dalhousie has lots of bait fishin the 70-100FOW range. With that there are lots of Chinook, Coho, Rain Bow Trout & Lake Trout being caught. Rainbows & Coho are about 15-30 feet down, the Chinooks are about 40-90 down. We have had a nice stretch of consistently good weather days lately. If you have the chance get out there.
Some of the hot Rainbow & Coho baits lately are here:
And some of the hot Chinook baits are here:
Over on Lake Erie its been quite the surprise to see very good Walleye fishing being had this early. Good numbers are being caught from Port Colborne out to Nanticoke. 60-80 FOW has been pretty good. As well there seems to be a bunch of bonus Rainbow Trout & coho's being caught out there as well. 20-50 feet down seems to be the range. Yaleye Mooneye & Hooligans seem to be a hot ticket to have in the water. But you can surely do well with worms harnesses too. For the trout use Super Slim spoons in Orange Crush & mixed Veggies color patterns.
Bass fishing on the NY continues to be good too! Cant wait for our season to open!
As you know, we're always available here & happy to help!
