Fishing Report Update - June 17
Fishing report update for Monday June 17
Well what can we say... there is some VERY good fishing going on now in many places.
Let's start with Lake Ontario. All along the South shore there is excellent Salmon fishing. 80-120 FOW is a great starting point and there are fish being caught out deeper too. Good numbers of Chinook but also a lot of Coho too.
Spoons seem to be producing very well. Hot colors are DW Silver Alewife, Green Alewife, NBK & black purple glow patterns.
Flasher & Flies (Stud, Hammer, Green Crinkle) are taking quality fish too. Good flasher patterns are 2 Face, White glow, Chin Music, and Mountain dew.
White Glow meat rigs behind white glow flashers & UV green rigs behind Glow Frog flashers are going good too.
Good fishing is also happening at Bronte & Port Credit too.
Congratulations to Team Striker who won the King Of Kings Salmon Shootout Tournament in Toronto over the weekend.
Less then 2 more weeks until the Great Ontario Salmon Derby begins!
On Lake Erie the fishing is just as good. Great walleye action continues off Maitland and Nanticoke. 60-90 FOW.
Fish are higher in the column. Worm harnesses in watermelon and pink/purple/chatreuse patterns are good. Redfins, Bandits & Mooneyes also good producing baits now in similar colors. Lots of fun fighting Rainbow Trout around too.
Bass is season has opened up in many parts of the province. The rest of Southern Ontario (zone 16) and Lake Erie opens this Saturday.
Our buddy Jason hooked into some nice ones this weekend in the Kawarthas
Get out & enjoy the great weather & fishing!
