FISHING REPORT UPDATE - NOV 13
Well we're enjoying another nice stretch of early November weather & with that some, some excellent fishing is being had for many species in many locations!
For trout, both at the Lower Niagara River & Port Dalhousie, the water is currently flowing "clean" and anglers are catching lots of Browns currently with some Steelhead being caught. Roe & roe imitations (corkies, beads, yarn) is working well, while some are doing good with plastics minnows & streamers.
For Smallmouth Bass, the Lower Niagara, Upper Niagara & of course all along the Lake Erie shore is producing very good bass now, numbers & size. Tubes, drop shot, jigging spoons & blade baits are the must have items.
For Walleye, both the Upper & Lower Niagara are also producing good catches, and some anglers are doing well in shallow in the evenings on Lake Erie.
Of course this is also the time of year when many will travel to the Bay Of Quinte to try for a Walleye of a lifetime". The annual Fish N Chips tournament was held in Picton this weekend. Congrats to Team reel Distraction on the win!
For the next month or so before it freezes, the action there will only be getting better. Baits like Yaleye Hooligans, Husky Jerks, Reef Runners, Tail Dancer & Bandits are always top baits to have when fishing there.
And we have to mention the perch fishing too! When the winds allow, the perch fishing is as good as it gets now on both Erie & Simcoe.
Have fun & be safe out there!
