Fishing report update - October 2
Fishing Report Update - October 2
Wow, what another great weekend of weather we had!
On Lake Erie the fishing continues to be very good.
Walleye fishing is great off Port Colborne in 70-75 FOW & 80-95 FOW off Maitland.
Worm harnesses still seem to be the most productive currently.
Perch fishing is starting to get good now off Crystal Beach & Port Colborne. 60-70 FOW
As well, the Bass fishing has been good. 15-30 FOW has good numbers. Drop shots & tube jigs.
Congratulation to our friends, Rich Nelson & Mark Dekker who won the Port Colborne Open tournament on Saturday with 26.16lbs!
Good luck to everyone who is competing in the Cdn Tire Lake Erie Open this coming weekend.
On Lake Ontario for offshore trolling, we heard it was tougher fishing the last couple days. All the previous east winds pushed in lost of warm water (too much actually) and pushed the temp & bait out way deeper.
Brown Trout should be moving in soon too.
A reminder that as of Oct 1 some areas along Lake Ontario are now closed.
Lake Trout is now also closed until Dec 1. As always we encourage you to check the MNR regulations when in doubt.
On Lake Simcoe the perch fishing is getting good. 20-35 FOW in Cooks bay, as well in the Virginia Beach/Pefferlaw area.
As well, Bow Season for Deer is open now.
Looks like this great weather is going to stick around for a few more days.
Get out & enjoy!
