June 6 Weekend Recap!
Hey Everyone
Well we are still in transition mode on Lake Ontario. Hard blow from Saturdays winds didn't help either. Very spotty fishing continues all along but ends of the lake. Now keep in mind we are talking about mature salmon. But there is still very good fishing happening for Coho, Rainbow trout & even Atlantics. In fact over the weekend in NY a very large Coho was caught. hopefully more are out there! Covering water, fishing with lines in the top 15-40 feet has been most productive. Spoon colors like Green Dolphin, Mixed veggies, Orange Crush & Caramel Dolphin have been consistent patterns. Still plenty of Lake trout around to catch too & some very big ones! Our Lake Trout fishing is often over looked but its not un-common to catch many 10-20lbrs in a days trip.
On Sunday, it was the Newport Salmon Shootout & here are the results from that
On Lake Erie the walleye fishing continues to be very good on the west end of the Lake. Trolling baits like Hooligans & Bandits has been working well.
Walleye fishing has also been good up in Kawartha region. Casting swimbaits and Crankbaits along the weed beds can be good. Muskie season is now open in many areas across Southern Ontario.
Have a great week everyone!
