Pretty good weather most of the weekend = some very good fishing all over. No doubt these next couple weeks can provide some of the best fishing for various species all over Southern Ontario. Weekend recap! Well the Salmon fishing getting very good now on Lake Ontario. The best action currently is from Port Dalhousie to the Niagara River. Some anglers still doing well with stick baits off planer boards in 18-25 fow others finding a good spoon bite in 20-40 fow. Riggers, small divers & 2-5 colors of lead core. Hot stickbaits are Yaleye Mooneyes in Gator, Easter Egg, Bubble Gum, & Grimsby Frog. Bomber Long A, Reef Runners & Ripplin Redfins also good. Quick recap of the past weekend.  Crazy weather continues but a couple windows of opportunity for boats to get out on Lake Ontario. The Salmon fishing is heating up all down the south shore. 20-40 FOW seems pretty productive. Both stick baits & spoon working well. Some good numbers of Coho are around too! Plenty of Brown Trout being caught still in 8-25 FOW as well The Catfish action is also picking up, with great numbers of quality cats being caught at the Grand River, Welland river & Jordan Harbour. Weekend recap! Another cool April weekend. The good news is that Lake Ontario is warming up some more, and with that we saw more Salmon being caught. Jordan to Port Weller seemed to be the better areas.10-30 FOW. As always though, remember that these locations get change quickly as the water moves. Mostly stickbaits off planer boards continue to work well. Top producers are Yaleye Mooneyes, Bomber Long A's & Live Target Smelt. Some on spoons too. Weekend recap! Some cool but fishable weather on Lake Ontario this weekend. Also the start of the St Catharines Game and Fish Association's 46th annual Spring Salmon Derby. Details for that can be found here www.scgfa.ca Many boats were out and some good fishing was had all along the shoreline. many browns in shallow from 8-15 FOW 7 some Lake Trout also being caught in there and also out to 50 FOW.
