At this point many ( we never really know how many) of the mature salmon have entered the rivers/harbors & the rest will trickle in over the next few weeks. So what does this mean for fishing opportunities over the next couple months? Yes you can try to fish high potential spots for the remaining matures, but expect lower catch rates. The last Salmon tournament of the season was the Bronte Classic hosted by the Halton Region Salmon & Trout Association. Congrats to Team Fish Whistle on taking the win with 65.01 lbs . Big fish was Kings Inc with a 26.36   There are salmon piling up all along the shore now after this rain. Should be a good bite for the next couple weeks. Long Weekend Recap! Leading up to the weekend we sure enjoyed a few nice days of ideal weather. On Lake Ontario the fishing for staging Salmon was starting to get pretty good. Good reports of fish being caught from Dalhousie to the Niagara bar. 40 -120 FOW. We also hear good reports from Grimsby and Bronte in similar depths. Herring strips and flasher fly combos continue to produce for bigger fish. Well happy Monday everyone, here is your Weekend Recap.Last week of summer vacation for many now.. but the fishing everywhere has been great!On Lake Ontario both the Silver Salmon Challenge & Great Ontario Salmon derbies concluded over the weekend & the both had their Fish Off’s. Its been great seeing many of our friends/customers placing on the leaderboards. Well this time lets begin with Lake Erie! Safe to say now that the Walleye fishing is very good in most places now.  Port Burwell continues to produce fast limits of Walleye & some Rainbows. 55-65 FOW has been the productive range. Spoon in Reg or Super Slim sizes have been best. Hot colors are Mixed Veggies, Greasy Chicken, Pink Panties, Watermelon, Blueberry Muffin, Andy's Walleye Slapper & Orange Crush.
