Aug 15 Weekend recap report So what's been happening lately? Over on Lake Ontario we are now transitioning into "stager season". What does this mean? We'll dive deeper in detail into this topic in the next couple days. For now, in a nutshell things are slowly changing now as far as the habits of the larger mature salmon. Well let's start with Lake Ontario. It's been an interesting last few days that has seen periods of very good & very frustrating Salmon fishing around the Lake in various spots. Late last week Grimsby to Jordan was producing very well in 60-100 FOW. Temps were good & the kings were chowing down on big schools of bait in there. Over the weekend things changed & the fishing got tougher for mature kings. As you can see, we have some colder water now in the west corner. There's still good numbers of fish around (coho, Rainbow, lake trout & chinook)...

Another Summer weekend has come & gone. Over on Lake Ontario, excellent fishing continues in different regions across the lake. As always during this time of the bite can change daily with wind & fluctuating water temps. 80- 150 FOW has been producing steady most days. Congratulation to Captain Cam Kilcar & Team Tail Chaser, the winners of our annual Salmon Dance tournament out of Port...

The NE winds from Saturday definitely set the table for those who fished Sunday. Many quality fish caught from Dalhousie, Grimsby, Bronte, Credit & Bluffers. We can't stress enough about the importance of having a Down temp & Speed unit ( Fish hawk, Sub Troll, Depth Raider or Smart Troll. As previously mentioned, when warm water is piled up inshore, it's very helpful to find the transition so your not unknowingly fishing in the "bath-water"....

A few keys to increasing the number of fish you will catch. 1) Watching the water temperature. If it's cold on the surface, you will likely mark less on the sonar as they will be higher in the column as the thermocline will be higher & less defined. If it's much warmer on the surface or even "homongenized" (warm from top to bottom) you will need to...
