We're into Mid October now & for those who have not put the boats away yet, there is still some really good fishing to be had. Also for those without boats, you can still get in on the action. The key is being flexible to change plans based on weather/water conditions. When you get a good window of opportunity you gotta go for it. Fishing Report Update - October 2 Wow, what another great weekend of weather we had! On Lake Erie the fishing continues to be very good. Walleye fishing is great off Port Colborne in 70-75 FOW & 80-95 FOW off Maitland. Worm harnesses still seem to be the most productive currently. Perch fishing is starting to get good now off Crystal Beach & Port Colborne. 60-70 FOW As well, the Bass fishing has been good. 15-30 FOW has good numbers. Drop shots & tube jigs. Well as the season's turn, so do the fishing opportunities! Safe to say we're defenitely at that point now on the fishing calandar. Many of the mature Chinook Salmon are now in the rivers & harbors. Those still wanting to scratch the trolling itch on Lake Ontario can do so offshore. 150-200FOW is a good starting point. Mid September and it feels like mid August! We have been fortunate to have relatively nice stable weather of late and with that, the fishing continues to be very good! Lake Erie walleye fish has been epic of late! Recently fishing has gotten very good off Crystal Beach - Port Colborne 70-80 FOW. Moving west Port Maitland is still very good in 85-95 FOW, Nanticoke 85-100 FOW and off Burwell in about 65 FOW.   Well hopefully many of you were able to get in some fishing during the weekend! On Lake Ontario the fishing for "stagers" aka large mature Salmon continues to be very good. Top areas continue to be Port Dalhousie, Bronte & Port Credit. The warm stable weather and lack of significant rain have kept good numbers of Salmon piled up in front of these areas anywhere from right out front to about 70 fow and all along the shorelines. Flasher / fly combos continue to produce best, simple and effective. Plugs & body baits are also working very well too....
